New Patriarche Vin de Pays range targets UK on-trade
Burgundy house Patriarche Père et Fils has joined forces with UK subsidiary Patriarche Wine Agencies to launch a new range of Vin de Pays wines aimed at the UK on-trade.
The eight varietal wines include a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Pinot Noir Rosé, sourced from the Languedoc and bottled in Beaune. All use screwcaps.
We felt there was a gap in the market for a range of good quality Vin de Pays wines," said PWA general manager Keith Isaac MW. "We discussed the project at length with several of our wholesale customers and listened to what they wanted from a Vin de Pays range. The main requirements were: a good selection of high-quality wines at reasonable prices; clear, attractive packaging and a screwcap closure. The response so far has been very positive."
