Page turns it in at Mentzendorff
Bill Page, chairman of Mentzendorff, will stand down from the company at the end of this month. He joined the company as managing director in 2001 and became non-executive chairman in March 2004.
Arnould d’Hautefeuille, president of Societé Jacques Bollinger, will resume the chairmanship of Mentzendorff after Page’s departure.
Page, who is also a director of the Professional Rugby Players Association, intends to remain active in the wine trade through his consultancy activities and his involvement with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, the Licensed Trade Charities Trust and the executive committee of The Benevolent Society, an organisation he chaired in 2000/01. He says: “I have been in the wine trade for the whole of my working life – it has been hugely satisfying and has produced some wonderful friendships. Under the leadership of my successor [as managing director], Andrew Hawes, the business is in very good hands and the dynamic management team will no doubt take the company to new levels of achievement.â€
