Cheng Loo promoted at Benevolent
Cheng Loo is taking over from Mike Campbell as chief executive of The Benevolent Society in mid-June this year. Loo has widespread experience of the charity, having worked for The Benevolent for eight years. She is also a justice of the peace and was vice-chairman of School Governors for many years prior to joining The Benevolent.
John Smith, chairman of the Benevolent, commented on behalf of the selection panel: “We are delighted to be promoting Cheng Loo from within; she is an outstanding candidate and the right person for the future. As with all leading charities and businesses today, we recognise the need for an expert in finance, as well as someone with good people skills. Cheng has all these and more.â€Loo added, “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to consolidate and strengthen the successes of The Benevolent so far. My aim is to broaden the supporter base from all sectors of the drinks trade by building stronger relationships with them.â€
