Pernod appoints Wine Chief
Pernod Ricard UK has announced the appointment of Adrian Atkinson as wine development director within the marketing team.
As the integration of the newly acquired wine brands from Allied Domecq continues, Pernod Ricard UK has announced the appointment of Adrian Atkinson as wine development director within the marketing team. Atkinson’s role will be to develop the company’s strategic approach to wine, as well as responsibilities for new product development, wine education and trade PR.
He will also work closely with the brands’ winemakers around the world on areas such as blending, wine styles and maintaining quality. Atkinson held a similar role at Allied Domecq Wines UK from May 2004 to date, and has spent 12 years as a wine professional with Oddbins and Sainsbury’s.
Atkinson is the current chairman of the Wines of Argentina Importers Committee and a member of the New Zealand Winegrowers UK Advisory Committee and the Wines of Spain Importers Action Group.
