MP’s Brew from Peru
Bizarre as it sounds, MPs were served the Peruvian lager – Cusqueña – at the House of Commons Christmas reception last year.
Call it marketing or political spin, Cusqueña has got itself noticed in the corridors of power. Bizarre as it sounds, MPs were served the Peruvian lager at this year’s House of Commons Christmas reception. “To be asked by the All Party Parliamentary Beer Committee if we would provide Cusqueña at the Commons was an amazing phone call,” laughs Kieron Barton of Cusqueña. “We’re hopeful that the brand will be stocked in the Commons permanently. We think they’d heard that Cusqueña doesn’t give you a hangover which will make going to work easier for Mr Blair the next day!”
Cusqueña is now available in the Soho Hotel, The Hempel and The Player as well as Harvey Nichols and Sainsbury’s. db January 2006
