Brum Punch

Brummie’s everywhere have been challenged to create a cocktail to reflect the city’s spirit in a competition launched by Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCI).
“Singapore has the Sling and New York has the Manhattan, we think it is about time Birmingham got its own cocktail,” says Gemma Hadley, marketing executive at the BCI. “Birmingham has a wonderfully diverse and active bar community that contributes immensely to the success of the city. Our bars and restaurants are some of the most entrepreneurial and exciting businesses in the city and are long overdue proper recognition.”
To enter the competition you must create a brand new cocktail that captures the spirit of Birmingham in some way – using chocolate liqueur to portray Cadbury’s in Bournville, for example, or there’s always the curry option.
The deadline for entries is November 30 and the first heats will be held at Red’s Bar on December 5 and 12.
