Armagnac At The Albannach
The BNIA (Bureau National Interprofessionnel de l’Armagnac) held its first ever Armagnac cocktail competition hosted by Albannach, the contemporary Scottish bar in London’s Trafalgar Square, on October 4.
The event, organised by Daniel Crebesse, head barman at the Sofitel St James and vice president of the UK Bartender’s Guild, London division, was the culmination of a day’s focus on the diversity of France’s oldest spirit, primarily aimed at the on-trade sector.
First prize, a weekend for two in Gascony, went to Giuseppe Ruo from the Windows Bar at The Hilton for his Armagnac Imperial, a fruity combination including Chambord, fresh raspberries and blackberries.
