In a bringing together of two campaigns, a new strategy from the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Languedoc (CIVL) and Oc Wines will be linking their generic activity into a joint export campaign, to be called South of France Wines. The two generic bodies have decided to work together to help simplify the complexities of this producing area. The CIVL will focus on developing recognition of the different Languedoc appellations while Oc Wines will concentrate on highlighting Vin de Pays varietals, and all marketing activity will be underpinned by the South of France strategy. Christine Behey-Molines, export manager at the CIVL, says, “This is a great opportunity for South of France Wines to build a presence in the UK. The market is getting tougher and we need to ensure that we are delivering a clear message. This is not about homogenising the staggering diversity of our wines, it’s about finding solutions to the challenges we face.”
