Fizz down at Morrisons
Our new promotions-watch page looks at the best wine offers and tracks prices for five leading beer brands
MORRISONS has a trio of fizz on promotion this month (March 14-April 10), starting with NV Champagne Heidsieck Monopole, down from £17.99 to £15.99. There are also two sparkling wines battling it out at the £5.49 price point, Freixenet Cordon Negro NV Brut down from £6.49, and New World sparkler Lindemans Bin 25 NV Brut Cuvée, down from £6.99.
Blossom Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 is 50p off at £4.49 and the Argentinian La Boca range is down £1 to £2.99.
La Boca is also down 25% in Waitrose with the Torrontes at £2.99 (February 28- April 3). There are a couple of sparklers on offer too, with 25% off the normal price of Marqués de Monistrol Cava at £4.86, and Duval-Leroy Fleur de Champagne Premier Cru is down from £19.99 to £14.99.
Meanwhile, Rosemount Estate Pinot Noir 2003 is one of the month’s star buys with a saving of 33%, down from £7.49 to £4.99. Meanwhile Sainsbury’s is having a French Wine Fair (March 2-15) with the French Connection range leading the way with reductions from £4.99-£3.99 and £4.29-£3.29.
Chasse du Pape Grande Reserve 2002 might be set to lead the sales charge, down from £6.99 to just under the magic £5 mark at £4.99. However, the offer also reaches premium level wines with 2002 Brocard Chablis Premier Cru down £1 to £9.99.
Bag-in-box wines are also on promotion throughout the month (March 2-29) with Hardys Varietal Range Chardonnay and Shiraz 3- litres down £3 to £14.99 Asda’s Every Day Low Price philosophy means that promotions are more focused on ongoing linksaves such as three for £10 on a range of brands including Stowells of Chelsea (bottles) and Banrock Station, which are individually priced at £3.68.
Other brands such as Jacob’s Creek, Kumala and Blossom Hill are on as three for £12, or £4.48 individually. Some more premium labels are offered as two for £10 including Blason de Bourgogne Chardonnay 2002, Gallo Turning Leaf Merlot 2002 and Pinot Grigio 2003 and Penfolds Rawson’s Retreat Shiraz Cabernet 2003 or Chardonnay 2002.
