Carling cans to feature portman website
"The Drink-aware website is an important development for consumers. We will encourage businesses who make or sell alcoholic drinks to promote the website so that people can make better-informed decisions about when and how to drink responsibly."
MEANWHILE, Carling is to become the first major lager brand to feature the Portman Group’s new sensible drinking website (www.drinkaware.co.uk) on its cans. Its new packaging also features the number of units of alcohol in the pack and includes the responsible drinking message "Enjoy Carling.
Take it easy". Des Johnson, Carling brand director for Coors Brewers, says: "It was important to put this message on Carling, the country’s biggest selling beer brand." The new website includes an alcohol unit calculator which indicates the alcoholic strengths of different brands and offers sensible drinking guidelines on how many units should be consumed.
Jean Coussins, chief executive of the Portman Group, comments: "The Drink-aware website is an important development for consumers. We will encourage businesses who make or sell alcoholic drinks to promote the website so that people can make better-informed decisions about when and how to drink responsibly."
