Advodka tonic

With whisk(e)y enduring further decline in the US market, it’s down to vodka, rum and tequila to drive growth

THE TOTAL SPIRITS MARKET in the US stands at around 450 million cases, which places the US at number 4 in the world ranking of spirits countries.  Whisk(e)y is the most important category, accounting for 27% of all spirits consumption but vodka is not far behind at 24%.

2003 saw the eighth consecutive year of growth for the US spirits market with vodka, rum and tequila driving the market.  Despite steady progress being made by whisk(e)y, it  has been gradually losing market share over the last decade.

New innovations in the vodka sector seem to be the main reason behind its slowing growth.
