Hampshire wineries prepare for tasting
Vineyards of Hampshire, the new collective of wineries based in the English county, is gearing up for its first trade tasting in London in February.

The Vineyards of Hampshire group is made up of Danebury, Exton Park, Cottonworth, Hambledon, Hattingley Valley, Jenkyn Place and Meonhill.
It has been set up to “promote Hampshire’s superb quality sparkling and still wines, and the county’s unique terroir, to both the wine trade and consumers locally and nationally”, a group statement said.
And on 1 February, the seven wineries will be making their first collective appearance in London’s Villandry St James in front of the capital’s sommeliers, retailers and press.
“People might expect us all to be highly competitive,” said Hattingley Valley CEO Andy Brown, “but such is the strength of the emerging English wine scene, and the pride we have in our county and its distinctive terroir, that we all pull together so that Hampshire’s wines are seen as a force to be reckoned with.”
