Artesian launches perfume-inspired cocktail range
The Artesian at The Langham hotel in Hong Kong has launched a range of cocktails inspired by a new fragrance collection by fashion brand Shanghai Tang.
In keeping with the current trend for perfume-inspired cocktails, the new duo on pour at the Artesian are based on the aromas found in the Silk Road collection.
Made in collaboration with master perfumier Carlos Benaim, the perfumes aim to “conjure the spirit, mystery and romance and exoticism” of ancient China.
Interpreting the scents, Artesian’s head mixologist, Rajendra “Rush” Limbu, has turned two of the collection, Rose Silk and Spring Jasmine, into cocktails.
Taking the Rose Silk’s notes of rose petals, cardamom, vetiver and musk, the cocktail features rosé Champagne, elderflower liqueur and a rose jam infusion and is garnished with a rose petal and a spritz of rose water.
Spring Jasmine’s notes of violet, sandalwood and musk has been turned into a mocktail that mixes jasmine tea, lemon juice, jasmine syrup, mint and lemongrass.
One sale until October, the fragrances will be on display at the bar for guests to try before they buy the cocktails, priced at HK$135 for the Rose Silk and HK$130 for the Spring Jasmine.
With each cocktail purchase, guests are given a Shanghai Tang privilege card entitling them to to 10% off the regular price products, 20% off the Imperial Tailoring Collection and a sample fragrance while stocks last.
