Take your chances at stock market bar

A bar featuring a “real time stock market for drinks” where the cost of drinks change depending on their popularity will open in London next week.

The City, London

The first of its kind in the City, the Reserve Bar Stock Exchange promises to capture the excitment of the stock market with the cost of drinks based on a live market price ticker.

Patrons will be able to use a smartphone app to check out the latest risers and fallers, order their cocktails and request drinks to be made at their table.

The bar has been created by Alan Grant, the man behind London venues including the Notting Hill Arts Club and Cherry Jam.

He said: “For me it’s always been about loving and believing in what you do then let the good times roll. I love the energy of The City and am excited to be bringing everything I know about giving people a great night out to a whole new concept in bars.”

Other bars that have latched onto a stock market theme in recent years include The Brew Exchange in Austin, Texas. Described as “Wall Street meets West Sixth Street”, the bar offers 100 beers on tap, the prices of which continually fluctuate according to supply and demand.

Set across three floors, the Reserve Bar Stock Exchange will open on 17 June.

There is already a bar with the same concept in Mumbai called “The Bar Stock Exchange”.
And no wonder its a hit among people as the prices fall unexpectedly below your imagination and get prepared to be downed at the end of the night.
