The annual list of the ‘World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ has just been announced with the Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s Amber restaurant placed 38th.
Amber’s chef, Richard Ekkebus, said: “Being on the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” list is seen as one of the greatest honours in the culinary world.
“My team and I are truly delighted that our commitment to quality and excellence has once again been recognised by the most influential panel of almost 1,000 international food critics, chefs, restaurateurs and highly regarded food experts across 27 regions around the world for the fifth consecutive year.
“This prestigious recognition is a testament to our entire team’s efforts and enthusiasm; it motivates us to push the boundaries further to create a unique and memorable gastronomic experience for our guests.”
Amber also claims an extensive fine wine list, overseen by head sommelier, John Chan. For those looking to push the boat out, drinkers can indulge in 1990 Dom Pérignon ‘Reserve de l’Abbaye’, 1989 Petrus or 1988 Domaine Leroy, among many other vintage delights.
