Hangover prevention drink goes on sale
A drink that claims to be able to prevent hangovers by replacing essential vitamins that alcohol takes away has gone on sale in the UK for £3 a bottle.
Containing vitamin B, magnesium, potassium, electrolytes and milk thistle, Ohayo works as a preventative by hydrating the body before bed and replacing essential nutrients.
Designed to be drunk before you go to sleep, the product claims to ease hangover symptoms like a dry mouth and headaches.
Aimed at midweek drinkers, the medicinal looking white bottles boast a red sticker that can be peeled off and kept as a reminder to take it when you get in.
Available in 150ml bottles via the Ohayo website, in pre-launch testing, all participants that tried it said that it helped them function better the next day.
Ohayo was developed by entrepreneurs Sanam Petri and Douglas Wolfson, who invented their own recipe after hearing of a similar formula created by medical students to keep them sharp after a big night out.
“Not only does Ohayo rehydrate you after drinking, it also replaces the vitamins alcohol takes away”, Petri said, “It makes waking up in the morning much easier after a night out,” she added.
“We started off playing around with the formula, making batches for ourselves and our friends,” Wolfson said.
“But when everyone we knew started begging us for more, we thought it made sense to share it with the wider public. It always helps, without fail,” he added.
Its makers stress that Oyaho does not prevent intoxication or reduce blood/alcohol levels. It is also not intended to prevent or treat any medical condition. The drink is available to buy in packs of three, six or 12.
