30 days of Riesling to hit HK
Wines of Germany’s “Riesling Weeks” is coming back to Hong Kong but this time will run for the whole of June.
The campaign encourages both the on- and off-trades to make German Riesling the centre of attention by running promotions and offering discounts or serving it by the glass in bars and restaurants.
So far over 20 bars and restaurants across the city covering both Asian and western cuisine have signed up to participate, as have 17 wine shops in Hong Kong and one in Macau.
A photography competition will also run throughout the month, encouraging trade and consumers alike to “capture” the essence of Riesling, “versatile, cool, green and yellow and sharing among friends”.
The prize is a Leica D-Lux 6 and to enter participants need to follow “Riesling Weeks HK” on Facebook or Instagram where they must also post their photos.
Coming over to help launch the campaign is the German Wine Queen, Nadine Poss, who will be hosting several tastings and wine dinners during the first week of June, beginning with a “high tea” at Mango Tree Elements, followed by a tasting at Schmidt Vinothek in Happy Valley on 31 May.
Then on 1 June there will be a tasting at Watson’s Wine in Century Square followed by dinner at Yee Tung Heen at The Excelsior and another dinner at La Trattoria di Parma on 2 June.
