Noma chef comes to London
Noma head chef René Redzepi is taking his world famous cuisine overseas for the first time with a pop up restaurant at Claridges hotel in London during the Olympics.
“A Taste of Noma at Claridges” will give diners a taste of Redzepi’s interpretation of Nordic cuisine, which has seen the Copenhagen venue top the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for the last two years.
Open from 28 July until 6 August, the pop up will take up residence in Claridge’s ballroom, with Redzepi and his team in the kitchen each day to serve a five course lunch and dinner menu for £195 per person.
The restaurant will see Redzepi, who kick-started a foodie trend for foraging, adapt his signature flavours and dishes to use local, seasonal British ingredients.
“We are excited about the opportunity to be part of the celebration of the Olympic Games in London and to work closely with the team at Claridge’s,” said Redzepi. “It is a different set-up from our home field, but we look forward to exploring the bounty of a different part of the world.”
The timing of the project not only coincides with the Olympics, but has been made possible by the fact that Noma is closing for renovation from 20 July until 15 August.
Tickets for “A Taste of Noma at Claridges” go on general sale from Wednesday 9 May, but it is possible to register interest in advance.
