Mouton Rothschild MD retires
Mouton Rothschild’s managing director, Hervé Berland, is leaving the château after this year’s en primeur tastings.
Berland (left), who has worked for the Rothschilds for over 30 years, will be replaced by Hervé Gouin who is currently the marketing director of Rothschild France Distribution.
Berland joined Baron Philippe de Rothschild SA in 1977, starting as export director for Europe and rising to deputy commercial director by 1988.
In 2006 he joined the board as co-managing director in charge of sales and communication and worked with estate director Philippe Dhalluin and technical director Eric Tourbier in the running of Mouton Rothschild, d’Armailhac and Clerc Milon.
He also has an advisory role at Opus One.
