Centre-Loire Masterclass

Centre-Loire wines: elegance, crispness, and authenticity

Explore Centre-Loire wines at a special masterclass hosted by the drinks business editor-in-chief Patrick Schmitt MW.Centre-Loire is home to 8 AC wines : Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly, Coteaux du Giennois, Châteaumeillant and Pouilly sur Loire. Sauvignon Blanc is the dominant grape variety in the region. Its different expressions reveal the diversity of the Centre-Loire terroirs while producing wines which remain uniquely crisp and fresh.

Red wines are made mostly from Pinot Noir but also from Gamay in the case of Châteaumeillant and Coteaux du Giennois. They have stunning elegance and lightness while the deliciously spicy rose wines can be made from Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.

Centre-Loire wines are enduringly classic yet resolutely modern.
