Alto Adige DOC & Etna DOC Wine and Food Pairing event

WINE PAIRING LUNCH – “WINES FROM ALTO ADIGE DOC & ETNA DOC – PAIRED WITH PECORINO ROMANO DOP”

Europe for the Senses

Join for an exciting wine pairing lunch with an Italian “Selezione eccellente from unique landscapes”Alto Adige DOC, Etna DOC, Pecorino Romano PDO

The consortia of Alto Adige DOC wines, Etna DOC wines and Pecorino Romano PDO cheese have joined forces in a three-year promotional campaign in the UK. Despite their geographical distance with Alto Adige being the northernmost winegrowing region in Italy and Etna being located in the southern Italian island of Sicily, the two DOC-regions have many similarities: The guarantee of high-quality production and their unique terroir. All but 2% of Alto Adige’s wine production is DOC, while Etna DOC was one of the earliest DOCs in Italy and the first in Sicily when it was founded in 1968. By the very nature of their terroir, both regions are committed to producing wines of the highest quality. While Alto Adige DOC wines are influenced by the different altitude levels in the sub-Alpine valleys, down in Sicily the island’s Mediterranean warmth is tempered by the cooling effect of altitude on Mount Etna and the many different volcanic soil types make each Etna DOC wine unique.

Join for this exciting pairing lunch where you will have the opportunity to explore both, Alto Adige DOC wines & Etna DOC wines, paired with a delightful lunch around Pecorino Romano PDO cheese.

The tasting will be hosted by Guiseppe D’Aniello, Director of Wine at the London EDITION who recently has been named ‘The Best Sommelier, UK 2023’ by the UK Sommelier Association. You will also have the opportunity to meet representatives of the consortia for interesting insights from their respective regions.
