Super Tuscan enoteca comes to London
Italian wine bar and restaurant Super Tuscan will open in January in Spitalfields, London.
The 25-seat venue is a joint venture between owner Nick Grossi and an unrelated specialist Italian importer of the same name, Grossi Wines.
Aiming for a modern, relaxed enoteca feel, Super Tuscan will offer its City clientele the choice between antipasti and a glass from the 30-strong wine list, or a full three course meal, prepared by the husband and wife chef team who have relocated from Sicily for this project.
The wine list will feature a number of boutique producers from the Grossi Wines’ portfolio, including the Pian de Guardi Super Tuscan from Fattoria il Lago and Poiega Valpolicella from Roberto Mazzi.
There are plans to introduce an Enomatic machine, which would allow customers to sample a collection of the bar’s top end wines by the glass. The venue will also list a selection of artisanal Italian beers.
Carlo Grossi, founder of Grossi Wines, (pictured above at the recent London launch of La Perla lingerie’s new collection, sponsored by Grossi DOCG Prosecco), explained this latest tie-in.
“I am delighted to be working with Super Tuscan as we share the same philosophy on sourcing the best Italy has to offer,” he remarked, adding: “it will be a perfect venue for us to showcase the diversity of our range introducing consumers to the best boutique wines from Italy.”
